Minutes: Where a Lost Item Goes, XX Station — Epoche A2
Minutes: Monthly Meeting on Lost Items, XX Station Date: 15 May, 10:00–10:35 Place: Station office, second floor Present: Tanaka (Station Manager), Sato (Customer Service Lead), Suzuki (Staff, minutes) 1. Numbers for April Sato reported 212 items in April: umbrellas first, then bags, then IC cards. 96 went back to their owners. 2. Where a lost item goes - to explain to customers Tanaka went through the timetable, which customers ask about every day. The station may keep an item for a few days only. After that, by law, it goes to the police lost-property centre. There the owner has three months to claim it; after that it belongs to the finder, or is sold. Umbrellas and clothing the police may sell after only two weeks, because there are too many to store. Decision: staff give every customer this timetable, since people often return after a month expecting the station to still have the item. 3. Finding the office Customers look for the lost-and-found office at the west gate; it is next to the main ticket gate. Actions: a bigger sign (Tanaka, by 15 June); the daily list of found items on the station website at 18:00 (Sato, from 1 June); an English lost-item form, which today exists only in Japanese (Sato). 4. Next meeting 12 June, 10:00, same room.
