Indian Trucks Talk to the Car Behind Them — Epoche A1
Indian trucks are painted like festival carts, and today I spent two hours on the road to Jaipur reading the back of one. Top: flowers and birds, in pink, green and gold. Middle, in big letters: HORN OK PLEASE. It means: sound your horn before you pass me. Near the lights: two eyes, painted open. Under the bumper: black tassels, moving in the wind, for luck. My driver laughed. "The truck is talking to you," he said. He was right. A truck here is not grey metal. It is a letter to the road behind it. #India #road
