Report: Black spots in the bedroom Date: 20 November Flat: Bergstrasse 11, Flat 3, Hamburg Problem: Black spots of mould in the corner by the window; the wall there is cold and wet. Cause: The window handle. Handle up, and the window tilts open at the top. Here it stood tilted all day, every day. In winter a tilted window makes the wall cold, the wet air stays, and mould grows. Action: Air the German way, Stossluften: handle to the side, window fully open, five minutes, three times a day, heating off. Then close it — do not leave it tilted. Next check: 20 December.
