Wet Noodles, Dry Bag: Shanghai's Four Bins — Epoche A1
My first week in Shanghai. Four bins in the courtyard: wet, dry, things to use again, and dangerous things — old batteries, old medicine. The city started this on 1 July 2019, so everybody in Building 3 is faster at it than me. The hard part was last night's noodles. The noodles are wet. The bag is dry. So you open the bag over the wet bin, let the noodles fall in, and put the empty bag in the dry bin. No bag in the wet bin, ever. Aunty Zhou stands by the bins. She saw my bag.
