Notice to All Residents — Rubbish Collection Rubbish at this building is not one bin. It is sorted into four kinds, and each kind has its own morning. Please read this notice before your first collection day. What goes where Day Kind Examples Tuesday and Friday Burnable Food waste, paper tissues, small wood Wednesday Plastic packaging Trays, wrappers, caps and labels Thursday Cans, bottles, glass Rinsed, with lids off By appointment Oversized items Furniture, bicycles, futons Three rules Use the correct bag. Its colour tells the collector what is inside; other bags are not accepted. Put your bag out by eight o'clock in the morning, not the night before. Cover the pile with the yellow net. Crows open bags, and the street is then yours to clean. Oversized items Telephone the city office, buy a sticker at a convenience store, write your name on it, and leave the item out on the agreed morning. There is no other way. One last word. A bag left on the wrong day is not taken away. It stays where it is with a small sticker on it, and by evening everyone in the building has walked past it. Sorting takes two minutes. That is the whole of it.
