A Tube of Cloth Stops the Guinea Worm — Epoche A1
Dear Amina, I am sending you a pipe filter. It is a short plastic tube, and inside it there is a piece of fine cloth. You use it like this. At the pond, put one end in the water. Put the other end in your mouth. Drink through the tube. The water comes through, but the cloth stops the tiny water fleas. Those fleas carry the young guinea worm. If the flea does not go in, the worm does not go in. People wear the tube on a string round the neck, so it is always there. This is one reason the disease has almost gone. Your friend, Joseph
