A Thread That Makes a Brother — Epoche A1
Dear Emma, This card shows my street in Pune. Today is Raksha Bandhan, the day of the rakhi. A rakhi is a thread. A sister ties it on her brother's arm, and he gives her a small gift — sweets or money. The thread makes a promise: the brother takes care of the sister. Rohan, my neighbour, has two sisters, but today he showed me three rakhis. The third is from Meena next door. She is not family. She ties a rakhi every year, so now he is her brother too. Three threads, three boxes of sweets. Love, Aisha
