The Iron with Hot Coals Inside — Epoche A1
Dear Sunita, New work, good work! I press clothes now, at a cart on the corner of our lane in Lucknow. People here do not press shirts at home. In the morning they give me a bundle; in the evening I bring it back, flat and warm. Ten rupees for a shirt, twenty for a sari. My iron is not electric. It is a heavy metal box, and inside it burn hot coals. One fill of coals presses many shirts. A little water, the iron sings, and the shirt goes flat. Come and see the cart! Your brother, Ravi
