I Write My Name Three Ways — Epoche A1
Dear Priya, School started again this week. Three of the new books are language books. At school here in Ahmedabad we learn three languages — Gujarati, Hindi and English. Most schools in India teach three. And three different scripts! Hindi letters hang from a line on top. Gujarati letters are the same family, but with no line. English has its own letters. I write my name three ways. My cousin Kavya lives in Chennai. Her school teaches only two languages: Tamil and English. Tamil Nadu said no to a third many years ago. One country — three here, two there. Which languages do you learn? Write soon! Your friend, Aisha
