Cold Lunch in Amsterdam, Hot Pasta in Milan — Epoche A1
26 October Second week in the Amsterdam office. At half past twelve everybody opens a plastic box. Two slices of brown bread, one slice of cheese, a carton of milk. All cold. Twelve minutes, and back to the desks. Nobody here wants a hot lunch, because the hot meal comes at six in the evening, at home. In Milan it was the other way round: hot pasta in the canteen at one o'clock, and a small supper. Today I brought bread and cheese too. I still looked at the clock at half past one.
