The Baby in the Rosca de Reyes — Epoche A1
Dear Elena, Big news from the office. On 6 January we cut a Rosca de Reyes — the ring of sweet bread for Kings' Day, with small plastic babies hidden inside. You know the rule: if the baby is in your piece, you buy the tamales for everybody on 2 February, the day of the Candelaria. Sofia, the new colleague from Medellín, did not know it. She cut her piece, turned it over, and twelve people shouted: "Tamales!" The baby was in her hand. On 2 February the office eats. Ana says two tamales each — twenty-four tamales. Next year I will watch my piece carefully. Besos, Isabella
