NHS Dental Charges Come in Three Bands — Epoche A2
NHS dental treatment in England is not priced tooth by tooth. Every course of treatment falls into one of three bands, and you pay one charge for the band — no matter how many teeth the dentist works on. The three bands Band 1 — an examination, advice, a scale and polish if you need one, and X-rays. Band 2 — everything in Band 1, plus work such as fillings, root canal treatment, or taking a tooth out. Band 3 — everything in Bands 1 and 2, plus laboratory work: crowns, dentures or bridges. What this means for you One filling and three fillings cost the same, because both are Band 2. A crown does not cost more because it is a big job; it costs the Band 3 charge. The band, not the number of teeth, sets the price. If you need more treatment soon after If you come back within two months for more work in the same band, or a lower one, you do not normally pay a second charge. Please tell the receptionist the date of your last visit. Children under 18 pay nothing, and some adults do not pay either. Ask at the desk.
