One Foot in Each Half of the World — Epoche A1
Dear Sam, I am standing at the equator, at a yellow sign by the road near Nanyuki, in Kenya. The sign says the line runs here, and I have one foot north of it and one foot south. A man came with a bowl and a jug. North of the sign, the water turned one way. South of the sign, it turned the other way. Everybody clapped. It is a good show, but it is only a show. The Earth turns too slowly to move the water in a small bowl; the man moves it. The line, though, is real. Love, Amina
